december challenge | day 1

I am a day late, but i decided to try and participate in Write? or Write!'s december writing challenge! I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with it or do it until the end, but I'll definitely try my best.

DAY 1: Don’t you think that’s a bit cruel?
jihoon&jeonghan (platonic), highschool au, cliche movie-like revenge

Jihoon’s eyes keep flickering between the door to the school auditorium and Jeonghan, balancing on the ladder, setting up a bucket over the scene.

“Done!” The older boy says after a few minutes and steps down. 

“Are you sure it’s going to work?” Jihoon asks worriedly, not knowing himself which answer he’d like more.

“Ninety-nine percent,” Jeonghan confirms with a smile. “I’ve done this before.”

Jihoon doesn’t want to ask when and how.

“Still… Don’t you think that’s a bit cruel?”

Jeonghan looks down at him and puts his hand on Jihoon’s shoulder to squeeze it reassuringly.

“What this guy did to you was one hundred times worse than him getting embarrassed a little.”

“But-”

“Don’t be such a goodie-two-shoes, Jihoon,” Jeonghan sighs. “It’s gonna be fine.”

It wasn’t fine.

The plan worked, and during the school talent show the guy who broke Jihoon’s heart - and outed him in front of his class - got a bucket of green slime spilled on him nickelodeon style while he was performing Taeyang’s Eyes, nose, lips. The whole school laughed and it seemed fine, but unfortunately someone saw Jeonghan and Jihoon behaving suspiciously on the backstage instead of just being responsible for the sound, and they ended up at the principal’s office.

...also with the victim of their prank, the green substance dripping down from his clothes, forming a few small puddles under the chair.

And it’s hilarious.

The principal is getting angrier and angrier at Jihoon and Jeonghan who both can’t quite suppress their smiles, and Jihoon knows his parents are going to be furious, but honestly? It was worth it.
